Tata Motors has just revealed everything that you need to know about the harrier. Also, the media drives for the SUV have begun. There are a number of things you need to know about harrier and it will definitely attract you towards this beautiful creation from Tata.
When you look at this car there is just one word that comes out WOW ! The LED DRLs that also double up as the turn indicators are placed above the headlights with a wide grille. Further, there are the projector headlamps with fog lights just behind the headlamps. The front looks really good and catchy.
The rear looks of the car are as good as the front. Tata offers 3D LED tail lamps at the back. Other key features of the exterior are the chrome door handles, 5 spoke alloy wheels in 17 inch size. The alloys could have been better, but the overall exterior looks of the harrier are excellent.
Now coming to the interior, there is no other car in competition to the Harrier’s interiors. It is the most luxurious and premium Tata car ever built. The features that make the interior look so damn good are airliner style parking brake, leather wrapped dashboard, steering and gear knob, cooled glove box, rear AC vents and chrome finish for interior fitments. Other features include automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, push start/stop button, auto folding mirrors and reverse parking camera. There is also 425 liter boot space which is sufficient.
The main highlight of the cabin is the 8.8 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system which includes 320W, 9 speaker audio system from JBL. The instrument cluster is also different from all the other Tata cars and looks good.
The harrier gets the same engine as the Jeep Compass which is the 2.0 liter (140bhp/350Nm) Fiat turbocharged diesel engine and will be attached to a 6 speed manual gearbox for now and later it will get an automatic version too. As seen in the Nexon, it will also get three driving modes i.e. eco, city and sports. It also gets the cruise control.
The Tata which has never compromised in the safety has raised the bar this time with the safety features. It gets 6 airbags and ABS+EBD. Other safety features include seat belt reminder, perimetric alarm system, reverse parking camera and ESP with 11 functions such as cornering stability control, hill descent control.
The Harrier has so much to offer and the price bracket will be Rs 16-21 lakh.
