Innova has been one of the most successful family cars in India. First launched in 2005, the car has been a hit since its launch. Then, in 2016 came an improved and luxurious new Toyota Innova Crysta. Toyota has done a lot of hardwork on Crysta and made it more luxurious, better to drive and has given it catchy exterior looks.
The Innova Crysta is completely different from the old Innova and has a completely new avatar. Crysta has got the modern looks that suits the car very well. The front bonnet and the long grille will remind you a little bit of the old Innova. The long grille is attached to the projector headlamps which are attached to the LED cluster unit. The side stance of the car is also good and the passengers at the back especially in the last row have large space to see and enjoy the outside view. The inverted L shaped tail lamps looks simple.
The Crysta gets 215/55 sized 17 inch alloy wheels in the top end ZX model and in VX and GX, it gets 205/65 sized 16 inch alloy wheels.
The interiors of the Innova Crysta are classy. The all black interior with wooden inserts suits the cabin and gives it a premium look. The most amazing thing in the cabin is the mood lighting with blue LEDs lining the roof in the front and further stretched to the middle. The top end ZX variant gets a tan leather interior.
It gets a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, inbuilt navigation & reverse parking camera. There are three modes: Eco, Power and Sport. In eco drive mode you get score for your driving and it also helps you in improving your driving skills.
The seats of the car are very comfortable and the middle row seats can also be reclined. The third row is the one on which Toyota has worked a lot, the middle seats get a one touch up down mechanism so that a person can easily get into the third row. The seats in the third row are also comfortable and have enough legroom.
The Innova Crysta has 3 engine options i.e. 2.4 litre (148bhp/343Nm) diesel engine & 2.8 litre (172bhp/360Nm) diesel engine. In petrol, you get 2.7 litre (164bhp/245Nm) engine which has a claimed mileage of 11.25 kmpl, whereas diesel gives 15.1 kmpl. Both the petrol and diesel engines are mated to 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic gearboxes.
As mentioned earlier, you get three modes which are eco, power and sport modes out of which the sport mode is the best to drive. But you can’t roam in sport mode for everyday driving. Eco mode is the most suitable mode for everyday driving and the car doesn’t feel weak.
If you want a luxurious & premium MPV then Innova Crysta should definitely be your choice. It is overpriced but it comes with the brand name Toyota which has strong resale value and reliability.
